Krisztina Huszár
Predoc
My research interests are focused on the molecular mechanisms of CRISPR-Cas9 systems, with a particular emphasis on the Streptococcus pyogenes Cas9 (SpCas9) nuclease. My research aims to gain a deeper understanding of the sequence-dependent preferences and intrinsic interactions of sgRNA that influence Cas9 function. In particular, I am interested in the role of intramolecular interactions between the spacer and scaffold regions that inhibit sgRNA loading and target DNA cleavage. By gaining a better understanding of these interactions, we can optimize CRISPR-based gene editing tools.
